Sahuarita's Titan Missile Museum is the only Titan Missile site in the world accessible to the public. Built in 1963 during the height of the Cold War, the site includes an inert Titan II intercontinental ballistic missile in the silo, as well as the original launch facilities.

The Sierrita Mine, located just west of Sahuarita, has one of the largest copper reserves in the United States.
