Each year, thousands bring their lawn chairs to the Redlin Art Center to celebrate Independence Day and enjoy what is officially billed as "The Biggest Fireworks Show in South Dakota."

The city's current newspaper, the Watertown Public Opinion, began publishing in 1887.
